Our History
Founded in 1984, Boyd Brothers Service Inc. began with Brother Bob passing the air conditioning licensing exam in September, followed by Brother Ron as the first employee. The company quickly expanded by acquiring another air conditioning business for its customer base and maintenance agreements.
Within a year, Brother Walt moved from Michigan to join the team, becoming employee #2. By 1987, Brother Gene and Brother Bob raced to Florida, with Gene becoming employee #3 and Bob #4. In 1988, Brother Ed joined, completing the team of five brothers dedicated to keeping Southwest Florida cool and comfortable with high-efficiency air conditioning systems. Boyd Brothers Service Inc. has been ahead of the curve in energy conservation and lowering electrical costs long before it became a national standard.
In 1991, they partnered with Automated Logic Corp to provide energy management solutions for commercial applications, covering territory from Manatee County to Marco Island. Their first major project in 1991-1992 for Highlands County Schools included installations that are still operational today. Currently, hundreds of buildings are managed by Boyd Brothers Service Inc. and Automated Logic Corp, monitoring AC, heat, water, security, indoor air quality, and lighting.
Over the years, Boyd Brothers Service Inc. has promoted energy-efficient air conditioning, offering substantial energy savings for consumers. They have led the way in energy conservation since 1991, providing products that improve indoor air quality, essential for the region’s aging population. These products ensure cleaner air, benefiting both customers and their pets.
