Honoring the Legacy of Eugene “Gene” Boyd
A founding brother of Boyd Brothers Service, Inc.
Eugene “Gene” Boyd was more than a founding partner of Boyd Brothers Service, Inc.—he was a driving force behind the values, work ethic, and culture that define our company today.
From the very beginning, Gene helped lay the foundation for a business built on integrity, craftsmanship, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
The Beginning
Born on February 18, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan,
Gene grew up alongside his four brothers in Lake Orion.
From an early age, he developed a strong sense of curiosity, hands-on skill, and a love for how things work—qualities that would later shape his career in HVAC and building systems.
After studying mechanical engineering, Gene eventually made the move to Florida in the late 1980s, where he joined his brothers as part owner of Boyd Brothers Service. Together, they built not just a company, but a reputation for quality, reliability, and trust throughout Southwest Florida.

A Life Built on Family & Values
While Gene was deeply committed to his work, his greatest pride was always his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Kathleen “Kathy,” and a loving father to his daughter, Sydney.
Whether attending events, helping with school projects, or simply being present, Gene showed up in the ways that mattered most.
He and Kathy also spent many years volunteering together in their church community, reflecting the same values of service and care that he brought into both his personal and professional life.
